FRANCHISE OWNER VOTED TO ADVISORY COUNCIL

Mr Handyman growing in new ways

 

 (March 10, 2005 - FREDERICK ) -  Rob Carpenter, local owner of Mr. Handyman of Central Maryland, recently received the largest number of owner votes and was elected to the Mr. Handyman International Franchise Advisory Council by his peers.

The franchise, which provides home and commercial maintenance and repair, serves Frederick,  Washington, Carroll and Howard counties, recently held their annual convention in Miami, FL, where Mr. Carpenter was elected.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by the other owners across the country.”, said Mr. Carpenter.  Mr. Carpenter will serve with five other national franchise representatives and one from Canada.  The council is cooperative effort between the Mr. Handyman International home office and its respective franchise owners to help formulate policy and the direction of the franchise.  Mr. Carpenter was elected to a three-year term.

“To be able to help determine the direction of our franchise considering the tremendous growth we have experienced is just incredible”, added Mr. Carpenter. The franchise, Mr. Handyman, International, based in Ann Arbor, Mich. was recently named the #1 Home Improvement franchise by Entrepreneur magazine. “I believe that is a true statement of the quality of our franchise and a true statement of the quality of service we as individual owner/operators provide our customers.”

Last year at the Mr. Handyman Convention Mr. Carpenter’s franchise won the Rookie Franchise of the Year award on competition from more than 40 new franchises.   This year his franchise was recognized for its efforts in helping attract new franchisees nationally as well as winning a 5-day Caribbean cruise for his efforts. “The trip was very nice.  It’s our second year winning an incentive trip for our efforts.”

Mr. Handyman technicians are licensed, bonded, insured, have at least 15 years experience, have undergone criminal background checks and must pass a drug screening. “We do that to assure our customers of a save, worry-free job that is completed by an expert.”

Some of the services offered includes, drywall repair, painting, power washing, carpentry, many of the handyman type jobs.  “We specialize in the two hour to two day type of job.”, added Mr. Carpenter.
